Day Three - Spaulding Island to Sky City
The Seaview Investigation Reports SeaView 2
Narrated by Matt Alden-Farrow "Sea View Detective"
I took so many images today! I'm sorry if this report takes ages to load.
Anyway, I was my day off today and I decided that after doing a bit too much snooping around yesterday, it was best to be off straight away. I left a note for the station master, telling him I'd left early, jumped into my speedster and moved out onto the main line.
Good thing too! As I moved off I spotted Seaview Government troops searching the mango warehouses! I took three pictures of them. In the third one I circled the van that they obviously came out of. When I had finished taking photos, I opened the throttle wide open and sped off! I think they spotted me but it was very dark, so I don't think they noticed what I was driving!
As I sped through the desert, I spotted some troops using light beams to signal to one another. I got this photo of four units signaling to another unit across the desert.
I reached Coconut Island spur and moved onto the bridge to Coconut Island. Here, I stopped, and took 40 winks.
At dawn I pulled onto the island and reversed into a siding. In the last two pictures you can see the Coconut Idol. As it is said in the travel guide, that it was built out of fondness to Sniper Ward, a coconut farmer from a long time ago that aided all the other farmers during a tough years harvest.
When I went to take a close up shot of the Idol, I found it was so big I had to take two photos of it and put them together! I spent the remainder of the morning trying out the local food and chatting with the coconut farmers. The coconut soup that they make tastes wonderful! I couldn't eat enough, it was so tasty and the locals kept offering me another bowl full of the stuff! It fills you up very quickly! I put some in my flask for later on. The locals even gave me a coconut shell to drink it from!
Looking at the packing case in my speedster's trailer, I realized that the company was based in Sky City, so I decided to visit the area.
This is the bridge which goes down towards Volcano Island. Nothing surprising or suspicious about it, I'm just in awe that such a piece of engineering could be undertaken!
Now this made me gasp in horror! This garden is extremely unsafe! There’s a fence on the front to protect a young child from straying onto the railway line, but no fence to stop a child falling into the sea below!
I'm sure this building is government-related. I think that the round concrete design in front is actually a disguised satellite dish! I'm still amazed I managed to get close enough to take this photo.
| Finally a shot looking across to Sky City port. You can see for miles up here!
When I'd finished, I went back to Coconut Island, reversed into the siding and typed up this report. Now, I'm pulling out my sleeping bag and I'm sleeping in one of the local's houses for the time being. I'm off early again tomorrow. Night, night! |
