| Day One - Soggy Island |
| I have arrived on the Sea View route (Sea View 2). My ship landed at Port Pelican and I've signed up as a track repairer to look as innocent as possible. I picked up my speedster from Port Pelican, and then drove to Soggy Island to do some investigating. I think that this place is a satellite receiving station, which receives signals from military bases and camps all around the world. A quick chat with the staff outside on a coffee break confirmed this. This shot, taken by a friend with a helicopter, showed that the building is on wooden stilts. As you can see from the photo this looks very unsafe. After repairing a section of track damaged by falling rocks, I preceded to "Soggy Island" station. Here, I spotted some tins being loaded onto a truck from platform 2. A quick investigation showed me that the tins contained highly dangerous chemicals. Now this made me sit up and rub my eyes! Sheep on top of a house? Impossible. But I took the photo and there's no mistake! I am not seeing things! Well, having finished my days work, I drove into a siding on Soggy Island, opened my laptop, saved the photos from my digital camera, saved the photo my friend emailed me and then wrote up this report. Now, I'm going to get out my sleeping bag, lay down in the cab of my speedster, and get go off to the land of nod for a few hours! |
